Onicha Ugbo cenre's campaign in three LGAs

The Management of Onicha Ugbo Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Onicha Ugbo, Delta State, recently took its advocacy campaign across nine communities cutting across three local government areas of Delta State.

The centre director, Dr. Osasere Owen-Sogolo, who led the advocacy team for the campaign, said her administration is poised to make NOUN a household name in Delta State, especially in Aniocha North, Aniocha South and Ika South Local Government Areas and environs.

The advocacy outreach featured distribution of flyers, motorised music show as well as verbal interactions.

The communities visited were Onicha Ugbo, Isele Uku, Ubulu Uku and Ogwashi Uku, where the gospel of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), the flagship mode of instructional delivery at NOUN, was preached.

Other communities covered by the campaign train were Obhior, Igbodo, Ekueoma, Umunede and Agbor, where workers in banks, hospitals, churches, eateries, markets and motor parks as well as road users were sensitised on the operations of the university and the competitive advantages of studying at NOUN.

NOUN Regional Media Officer noted members of the public were receptive to the advocacy campaign as many people made further inquiries on registration requirements and processes.

It is worthy of note that Onicha Ugbo Community Study Centre also sponsored a promotional jingle in indigenous Anioma Language at the radio station of Delta State Broadcasting Service.
